I still have no idea why this man was elected for a second term.

In a way reminiscent of the Monica Lewinski scandal, Kwame Kilpatrick, mayor of Detroit and America's first "hip-hop mayor" has been caught in a sex scandal with his chief of staff. Recently sexually explicit text messages from 2002-2003 between himself and Christine Beatty were uncovered. But unlike President Clinton, Kilpatrick has done little to improve the economic state of Detroit, which as been in steady decline since the 1960 race riot. His track record is already soiled with low-brow scandals involving naked parties, hard drugs, using city funding to purchase himself a new automobile or two, and threatening to cut funding for some of Detroit's few cultural highlights, such as the Detroit Zoo and annual Independence Day Fireworks, as a way of political persuasion. After a week of seclusion, Kilpatrick emerged to make a public apology.

During Wednesday's 10-minute appearance, Mr Kilpatrick
apologised for "the embarrassment and disappointment" caused by recent
events.

He did not refer to the text message scandal directly,
but he apologised to his family and his supporters for the pain he had
caused them.

"I want to make a public apology to my entire family,
and specifically to the four people who I love the most in the world,"
he said, referring to his wife and three sons.

Mr Kilpatrick, 37, who could run for a third term next
year, went on: "I am the mayor. I made the mistake," he said. "I am
accountable."

But he rejected rumours that he might resign.

"I would never quit on you," he declared. "Ever."

The original flavors of Faygo (fruit punch, strawberry, and grape) were based on cake frosting recipes used by the Feigensons in Russia. Faygo is credited with the spreading of the word "pop" instead of "soda" to mean "soft drink" in the Midwest. Faygo pop is manufactured in myriad flavors.

Metro Detroit rap duo Insane Clown Posse are devoted drinkers of Faygo. They often spray large amounts of the pop at their concerts, dousing audience members who attend. The duo also endorse the soft drink in a number of songs. Due to their devotion to it, many fans (Juggalos) of ICP make it their soft drink of choice as well.

Flavors:

This is going to now be a dump for things I find interesting, including offering my opinions on pop culture. As I consider myself somewhat of an avid feminist and will consider my commentary to largely be of this influence, this may or may not be appealing to those who have listed me in their neighborhoods.

This blog will offer serve for me posting interesting articles/videos I find online, including things of the "paranormal" or naturally obscure nature. Well, here's my first official entry:

Yesterday, after browsing the /x/ forum on 4chan as I often do before bedtime (typically a bad decision), I stumbled across a video of the Michigan Dogman. Being originally from Michigan, I'd heard of the Dogman before, but dismissed it as local legend. Apparently there is supposed "actual footage" from the 1970's attacking a passerby in a car. The animal at first appears to move similar to a gorilla, but a profile shot (and later an inside shot of the mouth as the creature attacks) show the animal to be more like a dog. The footage is poor quality, similar to the famous footage of Big Foot scurrying through the forest, meaning that absolutely nothing can be concluded for it, no matter what cynics and believers may offer. Ultimately it is up to you to decide whether or not this footage is legitimate.

The Michigan Dogman -- Footage/analysis from Gable Film
